ISLAMABAD: Following a day of political drama and violence across Pakistan, PTI Chairman Imran Khan issued the PML-N administration a six-day deadline to dissolve the legislatures and call an election, putting a stop to the party’s much-touted ‘Azadi March.’

The PTI marchers, who had spent most of Wednesday night in D-Chowk, had now entered Islamabad’s restricted Red Zone, which houses many vital facilities such as the Supreme Court, Prime Minister’s House, and the US Embassy. Despite the tight security, they were able to gain access. They eventually dispersed.

In response to PTI marchers’ presence in the Red Zone, Information and Broadcasting Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb informed Geo News that security in the Red Zone is foolproof. She stated that they will maintain public and sensitive building security. Imran Khan claimed in his statement on Jinnah Avenue that he had arrived in Islamabad after a 30-hour journey from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“The authorities attempted every trick in the book to put an end to our Azadi March. They unleashed tear gas on peaceful protestors, ransacked our homes, and invaded our privacy. “However, I’ve seen the country overcome its dread of slavery,” he remarked. Three PTI workers were killed in Karachi. According to Imran Khan, while two others were hurled off the Ravi Bridge and many more were arrested.

Saying he is giving the government this time to announce a general election. “My message to the imported administration is to dissolve assemblies and call elections immediately; otherwise, I will return to Islamabad in six days,” he continued.
